when ttc strikes

boo. what a crappy thing to hear on the radio as you wake up in the morning.

"the ttc is having an illegal strike."

seems like the logical thing to do on a 30 degree day, when there is already a smog warning. that's just freaking great. as if the extra hundreds of thousands of cars on the roads, the extra taxi's are going to help in reducing the pollution. and if you don't have a car, you get to be one of the lucky few who gets to inhale all of the extra emissions today as you bike or walk to where you have to be.

this is NOT the way to gain the public's support.

if the ttc doesn't start up by this afternoon, I have to decide whether or not to take a cab to teach- could take forever in traffic, and will also cost probably around $100 for the day, maybe more...... I could try to get my bike tuned up in the next couple hours- and inhale all the wonderful, tasty, smog fumes on the hour plus bike ride there, nevermind the hour plus ride back home in rush hour traffic. I could leave now and start walking and get burned to a crisp....... oh, oh, the options are so wonderful and exciting.

And it's the last lesson of the year for my Monday students- as they start exams later this week. And last week was a holiday. So I kinda have to be there........ somehow, someway.......

freakin wonderful.

stupid ttc union
