chew, chew, chew

Yesterday I decided to take the time to chew my food. really chew it. at least 50 times each bite if possible. A few things I noticed after:
I ate less
I was fuller longer
Interesting...... and all from just chewing my food longer than normal.
Today it's time to start with whole grains.... mmmm brown rice??

good luck with the macrobiotic lifestyle. although i really don't care for brown rice, south beach turned me on to multigrain bread; i don't like white anymore. wow, this typing is slow-going--one hand is holding my 8-grain toast with p.b. and honey...trying the chewing thing--novel concept. no wonder you eat less. it takes so long, you're bored with eating your breakfast after a while! ;)

OKay, now I have to try this chewing thing too... I suspect I will just get tired of eating (or run out of time, more likely around here with the kids needing me!) and eat way less! Good luck with your healthier lifestyle!
